FAQ's

What skill level do I need to take a tour?
  Every participant must have a valid motorcycle license. It is a good idea to pick a bike in a weight class you are comfortable with. Local technical colleges offer classes in motorcycle training for beginners and experienced riders that are excellent.
What is included in the tour price?
  At Outrider we provide your gas (tour specific), the tour guide, the 2008 motorcycle rental fees (including insurance), all hotel accommodation (after the start of the tour), daily route itineraries, boat ferry tickets and bike ferry expenses(tour specific), chase van (tour specific), welcome/depart dinner (tour specific), helmets, leather coats upon request, rain gear upon request, 1 gig flash drive.
What is the flash drive for?
  After we receive your payment for your tour we will mail you a flash drive loaded with all the information about your tour. The flash drive is yours to keep! It will contain all safety literature, clothing suggestions, and tour itinerary. After the tour is over if you want some pictures of the places we visited we will load the picture on your flash drive and mail it back to you free of charge.
What are the motorcycle rental fees?
  All our 2008 motorcycles are rented from local Harley Davidson dealerships. The price of the tour includes all rental fees associated with the rented bike from the local Harley Dealership. The Harley dealership provides liability insurance, personal accident coverage and personal property coverage with the rented motorcycle at no extra cost. There is no down payment or security deposit. The bike rental price is paid by Outrider and you sign the rental agreement with the Harley Dealership.

Under the rental agreement maximum out of pocket liability for damage to or theft of, the rental motorcycle is limited to the first $500.00.
What is not included in tour?
  Beverages and meal money.(Except welcome/depart meals, tour specific), riding glasses are not include in the tour price. Airfare and motels outside of tour dates are not included. Helmets, heated leather jackets, and rain gear furnished upon request. Also, oil for your motorcycle is not included.
Can I ride my own bike?
 

Yes you can! At Outrider we do not care what bike you ride. Metric bikes are always welcome. It is the ride and the people that share it that are important.  Call for a tour rate price reduction. You must provide proof of insurance to be eligible to take a tour. We can put you in touch with a shipping company for shipping your motorcycle for a tour. Shipping costs are at customer’s expense.

Insurance?
  Liability insurance for your own bike must be provided. Rented bikes come with liability insurance. We strongly recommend trip cancellation insurance as well as trip insurance.
What do I bring for clothing?
  Wisconsin/Michigan weather can vary due to the time of year. After you book your tour you will receive a confirmation in the mail with a suggested clothing list for the time of year.
Do I have to stay with group?
  It is your vacation! All we ask is that you let us know when you want to leave the group to explore on your own. You will be given the daily itinerary to meet up with us later.
How many riders are on a tour?
  At Outrider we like to run between 7 and 12 motorcycles per tour. No more than 14 people on one tour. Smaller groups are more informal and personable. Bigger groups can be designed for specific events. Please call for more info.
What is expected of the riders of the tour?
  Outrider expects riders to follow all motorcycle laws related to the operation of their motorcycle. Outrider expects that all participants are responsible for determining the safe day to day operation of there motorcycle. Consuming alcoholic beverages at any time during the daily scheduled ride is prohibited. Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited at any time during the tour. Violation of these policies will result in immediate cancellation of your tour without refund. Transportation for you and your bike from cancellation point of tour is your responsibility.
When do I pay for trip?
  We require a require 10% deposit of tour price to reserve spot at the time of booking. This will reserve your spot on the tour. Full payment is due 40 days prior to the start of the tour.
What if I have to cancel?
  We try our best to accommodate our customers. If you cancel 60-45 days before tour date we will credit your account 100% the money submitted for a future tour of your choice.(Within the current calendar year),or refund you the total amount submitted minus an administration fee of $20.00.

If you cancel 44-31 days before tour date we will refund 50% of the money submitted minus an administration fee of $20.00. If you cancel 30 days before tour date you will receive no refund of money submitted.
Can Outrider cancel a tour?
  Up to 30 days prior to the start of a tour, Outrider can cancel the tour if an insufficient number of tour participants have booked and fully paid by that time.

At the time of cancellation notice Outrider will offer to operate the tour if all customers agree to a supplement charge due to the low number of tour members. If customers do not accept to pay the supplement, Outrider will refund their payment in full, which will constitute the full settlement. Outrider is not liable for any additional costs or losses incurred by the tour participant due to Outrider's cancellation of tour due to lack of participation.

This includes, but is not limited to the cost of pre-paid airline tickets, hotel reservations or automobile rentals. Situations may arise which will make it necessary for us to cancel, advance or postpone a scheduled tour, change itineraries or make substitutions regarding hotels, cities, tour guides and other travel arrangements. In that event, we do not assume responsibility or liability for any resulting losses, expenses or inconvenience. Your full tour price will be refunded if the tour is cancelled prior to scheduled tour start date.
After I book a tour what is the next step?
  After Outrider receives your down payment we will send you an invoice confirming your reservation. After payment in full, on or about 30 days before the start of the tour you will receive full trip itinerary package. This will include all pertinent information about trip itinerary, safety, clothing lists, luggage, bike rental, and insurance.
Where is the nearest airport?
  The Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport is located in the Twin Cities suburb of Bloomington, Minnesota. It is about a 40 minute ride to River Falls, Wisconsin from the airport. All of Outrider’s Tours start at River Falls.

Parking is free at River Falls Harley if you choose to rent a car. There are also shuttle services available locally which we can help you arrange if needed.

Located just across the street from the airport is the Mall of America.

Make sure you give yourself an extra 2 days to see the mall because it is huge!!
